The Reston Chorale's 55th season will include The Wonder of the Season holiday concert with Brass of the Potomac (December 11, 2021); Music of Czech Composers, featuring Antonin Dvorak's Mass in D Major (March 13, 2022), and Appalachian Spring sharing the beauty of the region through music and visual art (May 7, 2022).
We invite singers of all voice parts to audition for The Reston Chorale. Auditions take place by appointment throughout the season.
The Reston Chorale auditions are designed to provide the artistic director with information about the applicant's understanding of music and singing. Prepared excerpts (see below), a short sightreading exercise, and a vocal range assessment constitute the audition.

For the health and safety of our members, the Board of The Reston Chorale has established guidelines regarding COVID-19.
The Chorale rehearses on Tuesday nights from 7:00 - 9:30 pm at the Reston Community Center, Hunters Woods, 2310 Colts Neck Road, Reston, VA 20191. Members are expected to attend all regular rehearsals, as well as dress rehearsals. Limited absences will be granted for business travel and/or illness.
Annual membership dues for both new and returning members are $250, but for new members joining in January, the fee will be prorated to $125.
For those who join in January as Associate Members, the prorated fee is $75. If an Associate Member subsequently is fully vaccinated and wishes to sing in a concert, an additional fee of $50 per concert will be assessed.
Music for each concert is available for purchase at rehearsals. The cost of music usually runs between $20 and $40 per segment.
The Reston Chorale women's formal concert gown and jacket can be purchased from our costume coordinator for approximately $120. Women also wear black hosiery and black shoes. Men are responsible for their own tuxedos with two bow ties and cummerbunds (one black and one red), and white wing-collar tuxedo shirt. (For pops and other concerts, attire may vary, such as all black or black pants/skirts and jewel-toned shirts/blouses.)
Journey with us on a musical tour of choral and organ works by Czech composers, including Antonin Dvorak's Mass in D Major, the opening chorus of Bedich Smetana's The Bartered Bride; plus a musical setting of Rainer Maria Rilke's poem, Whom Will You Cry to, Heart?, Czech folk songs and more.
