The Reston Chorale is a mixed-voice, auditioned chorus with a full repertoire that varies in style from classic rock to choral masterworks.
Membership is open to both teens (generally age 16 and over) and adults of all ages. We strive to be an inclusive ensemble where all members feel welcomed, valued and respected.
If you enjoy singing, we invite you to audition to become part of The Reston Chorale.
Auditions for all voice parts take place periodically throughout the season. You may request an audition by contacting -

The Reston Chorale auditions are designed to provide the artistic director with information about the applicant's understanding of music and singing. Prepared excerpts (see below), a short sightreading exercise, and a vocal range assessment constitute the audition.

For the health and safety of our members, the Board of The Reston Chorale has established guidelines regarding COVID-19.
The Chorale rehearses on Tuesday nights from 7:00 - 9:30 pm at the Reston Community Center, Hunters Woods, 2310 Colts Neck Road, Reston, VA 20191. Members are expected to attend all regular rehearsals, as well as dress rehearsals. Limited absences will be granted for business travel and/or illness.
To accommodate singers who are not able to attend in person, we will record the rehearsals and make them available within two days of the rehearsal. This should not be considered an alternate to attending in person, but rather should be for illnesses or business travel.
Annual membership dues for both new and returning members are $250.
Music for each concert is available for purchase at rehearsals. The cost of music usually runs between $20 and $40 per segment.
The Reston Chorale women's formal concert gown and jacket can be purchased from our costume coordinator for approximately $120. Women also wear black hosiery and black shoes. Men are responsible for their own tuxedos with two bow ties and cummerbunds (one black and one red), and white wing-collar tuxedo shirt. (For pops and other concerts, attire may vary, such as all black or black pants/skirts and jewel-toned shirts/blouses.)
Please contact us at membership@restonchorale.org or at 703.834.0079. We look forward to hearing from you!
