A Seasonal Celebration
December 4, 2004 - 6:00 pm & 8:00 pm
Delight in the sounds of the season at our Holiday Concert. Featuring many styles of seasonal music from spirituals to modern arrangements of traditional holiday carols and popular seasonal songs. Featured, will be the world premiere of a new work by renown American composer David Ott, Solitude of Night, commissioned for the Reston Chorale by the John and Susan Adney Foundation, Velvet Shoes, written for the Reston Chorale by local composer Scott Solak, and the Franz Joseph Haydn Te Deum, for The Empress Maria Therese. Additional music by John Rutter, Sergi Rachmaninoff, spirituals by Robert DeCormier and William Dawson and a delightful selection of holiday choruses, solos and ensembles by other well known composers will round out the program.

The Reston Pops Concert

The Reston Chorale's Annual Pops Concert will feature a celebration of the music of the prolific American composer Harold Arlen, who's birth centennial will be observed this season. On commission from John and Sue Adney, new arrangements of Arlen's music by Chorale pianist and former Arlen accompanist Bobby Tartaglia will be featured - a "don't miss" evening for lovers of American music. Chorale-based ensembles and soloists will be featured, along with an instrumental group and the Reston Chorale Jazz Trio, anchored by Bobby himself.
